It has been a busy month and Philip is growing up so much! We celebrated his birthday a few weekends ago at the park. He is really into feeding himself. He even can get things to stay on his fork and put them in his mouth! Of course I really tried this out with spaghetti...(it just happened to be what was for dinner.)
"Welcome home from work Dad! How was your day? Hungry?"
and the aftermath. I zoomed in on this picture and he still had some red sauce in his nose! He likes sit in the chairs and look at books. He pulled the cushion off of this one and pulled himself right up! We have a climber folks! We are enjoying our little boy so much! He is starting to give hugs and be quite vocal. He said mom once, seriously, I promise!

Philip and Sadie
My dear friend Timi was in town visiting her family with her adorable daughter Sadie this last weekend. Timi and I go way back. The friend that I don't even remember how we met or how old we were. We've just always been friends. And we always had so much fun! We spent the night at each others' houses all the time, played MASH and then would write letters to each other like we were in the future and the MASH results were our life. She was the friend I always took on family vacations when I could(a perk of being the only girl), we made videos with commercials, ate Dove ice cream bars under her bed(so we wouldn't have to share!), and so many other great, fun, silly memories. And now we have kids together! The only problem is, she lives in Texas, and we live here! Although, they are moving closer, but still 2 states away! At least it's theoretically drivable in a day. But here's the kids!
"Let me show you the baby animals in this book Sadie."
"Okay, you look at the book, I'm going to climb up this slide."
"So, you press this button right here, and we can call your dad!"(Philip was thoroughly engrossed in Timi's phone since we deprive him of ours!)

Oh Timi! It was so much fun to see you! I miss our times together just being ourselves. And I don't think we can fit under our bed(not because we are too big, we just have too much stuff!), but we could probably indulge in some ice cream the next time, this time we'd have to hide it from those kids rather than everyone at church! Can't wait to do it again! I'm looking forward to the birth of your nephew for more reasons than one!

4th of July
We decided to break in our new to us baby backpack and go for a hike on the 4th. Well, we had yet to purchase our trail pass, and didn't not have small bills to leave in an envelope so we drove through Cascade Locks and ended up at Multnomah Falls. By that time, Philip was asleep so Paul and I sat in the sun on the grass and watched the parking lot fill up. When Philip awoke, we went on a mini hike.

Just past the bridge...

Taking a snack break at the bottom. Philip LOVES strawberries! (And so far he has only had Oregon berries, so he may be a bit biased next summer)

We spent the early evening with my parents, brother and some good family friends at a laid back bbq. This was not the year for Philip to experience the fireworks, he was in bed and asleep by 8:30, and luckily we weren't in a firework zone. One perk of apartment living, no fireworks allowed! It was a great 4th.

Hot summer days
We went over to my parent's yesterday to beat the 90 degree heat. Paul and I purchased a kiddie pool for Philip and I have yet to take any photos of him in it!(but there will definitely be some on the way! He LOVES water! Fountains, creeks, faucets, and he even tried to climb in the bathtub by himself last night!) But we also enjoyed being inside...
And he got acquainted with his chair that Uncle Mark put together for him. He did great sitting and eating his lunch and some snacks in the chair. Here he is with his droopy pool mohawk and in diaper only. What a fun guy. He loved crawling around Grandma and Grandpas house and splashing around in the pool!
Birthday Party!
Philip and I traveled down to Corvallis to celebrate our friend Cory's 30th birthday a couple weekends ago. The party was at a park and he had a grand time playing with the balloons, sitting with Cory's Grandpa, seeing dogs at the park, trying some baked beans and swinging with his friend Gabe.

Philip and Gabe swinging, this was the closest I could get to have both boys in the picture! Gabe's pretty chill, while Philip was leaning forward the whole time!
